Giraffa Records is an independent Norwegian record company, publishing “world music in contemporary jazz form”. Founded in 2006 by Mathilde Grooss Viddal in connection with FriEnsemblet’s first release Holding Balance.

Giraffa Records releases come every other year and has high quality music. Until 2018, mixing / mastering has mainly been done in Rainbow Studio with Jan Erik Kongshaug as sound technician. Giraffa Records publishes with cover art by Norwegian artists, including Karin Kølzow, Christine Istad, Ståle Skogstad, Brita Dagestad. 

Giraffa Records has released FriEnsemblet’s entire works, Eick / Viddal duo and Meditations & Prayers.
