Viddals arrangementer for langeleik og KORK på Ultima (2019, WP)

Traditions pushed to the limit in KORK’s orchestral selection: A night of luminous orchestral beauty and drama.
Two folk tunes, ‘Langeberglåtten’ and ’Sumarmorgon’, will receive a totally new reworking by the versatile musician and composer Mathilde Grooss Viddal. An encounter between two langeleiks (Norwegian folk zithers) and orchestra, performed by two leaders in their field, Knut and Ole Aastad Bråten.

Extremely powerful music that takes its cue from open-mindedness and the sheer joy of playing.

- Kjell Moe, Nordlys

A nifty mix of old-school ECM folk-jazz and 1970s Alice Coltrane soul-on-the-sleeve spiritual adventurism.

- Bird Is The Worm

This is raw, wild and ill-mannered jazz with no restrictions or rules, the way free jazz was meant to be.
